Items Not Allowed at School

In keeping with the Oregon City School District Dress Code Policy, students are expected to wear appropriate, suitable clothes for school.  The Holcomb school staff will prohibit student dress or grooming practices that: present a hazard to the health or safety of the student or to others in the school, interfere with school work, create disorder or disrupt the educational program, cause excessive wear or damage to school property, and prevent the student from achieving his/her educational objectives.

  • Any article of clothing that advertises beer, wine, drugs, or inappropriate information.
  • Clothes with profane or suggestive remarks.
  • Tube tops, tank tops, short shirts, and spaghetti straps.
  • Shorts and skirts are to finger tip length or longer.
  • Any clothing that has excessive rips, tears, frayed, or drags on the floor.
  • Any dress that is disruptive, immodest, or dangerous.
  • Hats and sunglasses are not to be worn in the school building.
  • Students are discouraged from bringing radios, iPods, tape recorders, cell phones, skate boards, roller blades, shoe skates, scooters, electronic games, toys, balls, miscellaneous games, trading cards, or large amounts of money.  They are not to buy or sell toys or products at school.  The school provides play equipment.
  • Flip flops, open-toed shoes and sandals are discouraged due to possible injury.  Please encourage shoes that are appropriate for recess and PE activities.
  • Gum and candy are not allowed at school.
  • Disruptive hair coloring or make-up. 
  • Gang related clothing or items.
  • Any clothing, jewelry, or make-up items that may cause danger or distraction.
  • Any clothing or accessory that inhibits the safety of the student or others.
